THE PATH — A SEAMLESS IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Kostenki is a unique Upper Paleolithic site. The State Archaeological Museum-Reserve «Kostenki» attracts the attention of scientists from all over the world. Scientific research on its monuments continues, leading to new discoveries in the study of the Stone Age. The exhibition space of the museum-reserve building «Kostenki» consists of two halls that differ in their conceptual approach.
The main idea: «Recreating the history of prehistoric people who lived in the Kostenki area and later settled Europe.»
The exhibition’s architecture emphasizes a continuous, unified line into which showcases with artifacts, dioramas, multimedia, graphics, photographs, interactive elements, and texts are integrated.

The first hall is essentially a circular «corridor» with dim lighting, predominantly in dark tones, where archaeological discoveries are highlighted with focused light spots arranged in chronological order.
The «Corridor of Discoveries» in the first hall leads us directly into the home of the ancient human, and we experience an entire year of their life together.
At the end of the tour, we enter a separated space...
